Solvay Chemicals’ Green River mine, among the most technologically advanced in the world, is a major U.S. producer of soda ash from trona, a naturally-occurring mineral.

The primary application for the company’s SOLVAir® Select 200 trona is air pollution control. It is used to treat stack gases in coal-fired power plants, waste-to-energy plants, and in other industries such as pulp & paper, glass and cement.

Soda ash is one of the most important components in glass manufacturing. Other products manufactured at the site include sodium sulfite, sodium metabisulfite and sodium bisulfite.

Products are available in bulk railcars and bulk trucks, or from our nationwide network of transloading terminals.
