Diglycerol, Polyglycerols

Solvay Chemicals, Inc. offers two polyglycerols in the North American market: Diglycerol, and Polyglycerol-3. Both products are polyols consisting of glycerol molecules bonded by an ether linkage. They are more viscous than glycerol and are soluble in aqueous systems. Both Diglycerol and Polyglycerol-3 can be converted to fatty acid esters, which are used as emulsifiers, dispersants, thickeners and solubilizers in a variety of applications.
